This is along the Seine River which winds through Paris. This is just before reaching Notre Dame. All the touring boats were going the same direction. The river is not very wide so the larger boats must all travel in teh same direction or the traffic jam would be horrendous. The river was quite clean; however, at several places along the river there were squatters living at the waters edge. The other thing about Paris that was very difficult for me was the smoking. I have grown accustomed to smoking not being at restaurants or other buildings. It is everywhere in Paris and many, many people smoke--particularly women.
